Titus leaves behind his sons Duane, DeVaughn, and Derek (Zula) Saunders, all of Columbus, OH. Titus was preceded in death by his wife Kay, his son Darryl, his mother and father Lucinda and Titus Sr., and his brother Dr. He served his remaining career "putting out fires" before being moved to other schools to do the same. He became an Assistant Principal at Linden McKinley High School before becoming a Principal. stood for "Alawishus" which means "famous warrior". Titus was hired by the Columbus Public School system and taught at Franklin Junior High where the students claimed that his middle initial A. Following their marriage, Titus was stationed at Scott AFB and later was transferred with the Tuskegee unit to Lockbourne (now Rickenbacker) AFB in Columbus, OH where Kay joined him. While stationed in Greenville, MS, he met the love of his life, Kay, to whom he was married for almost 63 years. Titus received his master's degree in Education from Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH.įollowing his graduation from Tuskegee, Titus became a commissioned officer in the Air Force as a Tuskegee trained pilot.
